Fifteen walking routes
A route is one coherent walk on one side of the city, not a list of what happens to be nearby. Each one names its starting point, the window between prayers when the mosques are open to visitors, the walking distance measured along streets rather than in straight lines, and the point where you can stop early if your legs give out.

The Sinan Tree, and domes at one scale
Mimar Sinan’s Istanbul mosques laid out in time and banded by his own classification — apprentice, journeyman, master — with the kinship of plans visible between buildings. Separately, ten major domes are drawn on a single metric chart, from Hagia Sophia to modern Çamlıca.

From Hagia Sophia to the back streets
The atlas holds the imperial monuments — Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Süleymaniye, Fatih, Eyüp Sultan — and the small neighbourhood mosques almost everyone walks past: Rüstem Pasha above the bazaar, Şemsi Pasha on the Üsküdar waterfront, the tekke of Kocamustafapaşa. Byzantine churches turned mosques, the Balyan family’s baroque and the modern mosques of the Bosphorus are here too.
Offline by design
Map tiles, photographs and all guide text ship inside the app: it works in the street with no signal and no roaming. Only Google Maps directions and external source links need a connection.
